Hayman is a performance that simply involves being an anonymous foreign figure in the midst of a typical environment. The best way to be anonymous of course is to dress up in a complete layer of hay. Performed in a variety of cities and locations, the performance engages the public in an unusal way. No direct talking takes place, but certainly a great deal of communication occurs as individuals direct the figure to pose for pictures, ask questions about why it is there, and ask it to move here and there in their enviornment. Pets also find the performance interesting.
