Inner Thunder was a collaborative body drumming performance where the Cooper's body is transformed into an analog and digital instrument played by Bill Brauckman, Eric Zang, and with Todd Ingalls. The performance was presented in different venues and locations, each of which presented a unique atmosphere for the project.

Performance at Penn State University:
The most recent performance was at the Penn State University Performative Sites Conference in 2000 where the live performance combined live body drumming, pre-recorded samples, and live sounds from the body. Here's a series of sound samples were collected of human body internal sounds (recorded via a stethescope). These sounds were able to be accessed and played by Bill Brauckman in a live performance. A series of sensors were designed and used on Cooper's body that allowed Brauckman to play different areas of his body through simply touching or even pounding on various areas of the body such as the head, back and arms.

Performane at Deep Creek Arts School:
During this performance deep within a black limetone mine, Bill Brauckman and Eric Zang drummed upon Cooper's back and body. The sounds within the body were amplified through a stethescope equipped with a microphone. Both the heartbeat of Cooper and the sounds within his body echoed and reverberated within the deep chambers of the mine.

Performane at CrashArts Ice House:
This earlier performance centered around an eleborate environment of dead logs and natural materials to present a performance of body drumming. The body drumming consisted of rhythmic patterns and forceful percussive drives directly on the human body. The sound, sensed from a stethescope microphone was projected throughout the space of the Crasharts, Ice House space.
